Citizens of Wink,
I would like to update everyone on the current status of our water system. We know and understand the inconsistent water pressure has been taxing on everyone, and we are extremely grateful for the patience and understanding of our Wink Citizens during the required water tower repairs.
In my last update, I expected our system to be back in full operation before we all “Gave Thanks” with our loved ones. However, even as some were enjoying a hot meal and laughter, others were hard at work ensuring that our water system was working at its best as well as trying very hard to finish last minute repairs to the water tower. Unfortunately, as repairs to the tank part of the tower were being completed, we discovered that the stem, or large pipe that connects the tower to our system, required unforseen repairs.
Good news! All repairs and paint coating are completed. With warmer than usual weather helping the curing process, we are expecting to have our system back to stable, consistent operating pressure soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience this necessary and unavoidable repair has caused. We are continuing to do all that we can to ensure water pressures stay as stable as humanly possible.
Please remember that we are all in this together, and together we will all get through this.
Sincerely
Mayor Eric Hawkins
