Wink Sinkhole
Wink Sinks
There are actually two sinkholes located in Winkler County, just outside Wink city limits. They are the two biggest sinkholes in Texas. The first sinkhole formed in 1980 and the second in 2002. Although the sinkholes are nothing new to local residents, they did gain national attention in 2016 after studies discovered a possibility of the two collapsing in on each other. While they remain a science wonder there are fences in place to keep from trespassing near the sinkholes because it is unsafe.
